[ad#ad1]Most internet users have problems when it comes to downloading via torrent clients like uTorrent, Vuze, Deluge. The most common problem is low download speeds, even thought all internet providers guarantee bandwidth speeds. On the other hand they limit your download speed for torrent clients and the only solution is to use the protocol encryption option.

This option comes with most of the torrent clients. For example uTorrent has this option since 2006, when the torrent client was at version 1.15, but most users didn’t know how to use this tweak.

Bellow you have a little list, actually top 3 torrent clients for Windows, which handle the protocol encryption option at its highest potential:

1. On first place we have the torrent client Deluge, which in my opinion gives the best results (tested). It supports PE as of version 0.5.1 and it has improved a lot since then. For best performance select Encryption > Inbound: Forced, Outbound: Forced, Level: Either and Encrypt entire stream. You can find this options in Preferences under Network. Also a good tweak is to change the port for your daemon.

deluge protocol encryption option

2. On second place is maybe the most used torrent client, uTorrent. As I said, uTorrent has protocol encryption since version 1.15 (build 436). You can use PE by going into Preferences at BitTorrent and select “Forced” for Outgoing. Also make sure you select another port in the Connection tab.

utorrent protocol encryption option

3. On third place is another well known torrent client, called Azureus, nowadays known as Vuze. Besides PE, Vuze comes with more options than any other torrent client. It’s actually like a social network for HD video sharing. To select PE you must go to Tools > Options, click on Connection and under Transport Encryption set “Minimum encryption level” to RC4. It should work like a charm.

Vuze protocol encryption option

I hope these tweaks work for you too.
